Pack Your Dance Floor by Booking A Wedding DJ who can deliver
A lot of couples have told us Booking A Wedding DJ was a daunting task.
Asking questions and searching the Internet did not help.
But it really doesn’t need to be a hard task.
Here are a some things to consider when looking at Booking A Wedding DJ.
Use These Tips On Booking A Wedding DJ

Filling Your Dancefloor Is Easy
It’s easy to find most things once you know what you’re searching for.
This couldn’t be more true for when you’re Booking A Wedding DJ.
So start by working exactly what you’re after.
Would you like games?
Lots of interaction and chat?
Or are these points you’d rather avert?
Often it’s easier to list exactly what you don’t want.
As soon as you’ve established what you do and don’t want, you can read online reviews.
We’d suggest scrolling past sponsored posts, as any business can pay to get to the top of a page.
Instead search for DJs who appear organically and then book an online video chat.
This is when you can ask to see previous examples of their work.
Ask to look at their recent wedding playlists as this will show you if they’ll meet your expectations.
It’s unlikely a DJ will message you their playlists to keep as it’s their intellectual property.
Their music choice is what sets them apart from other DJs.
Prioritise Booking A Wedding DJ

Fun Times!
The DJ is responsible for around 40% of your wedding.
The party is one of the points your friends and family remember most.
Once you’ve booked your venue, registrar and photographer you need to consider Booking A Wedding DJ.
Most DJs will only require a small deposit to book your date in.
If you come across one you like don’t hold back in booking them.
Search Past Preferred Suppliers

Make Your Wedding Incredible
Often there are many reasons a venue may recommend a DJ.
These might be at odds to what you’re looking for.
Ask their reasons for recommending the DJ and check this against your priorities.
Photographers can be a fantastic source of referals.
They spend a lot of time with DJs and know how they are to work with.
Social media can also be good for input from previous clients but approach with caution as it could be the partner of a supplier putting their name forward.
Song Requests On RSVPs

Giving Your Guests A Good Time
Naturally you want your guests to have the best time.
Asking them for music requests is an obvious place to start.
Always ask for requests the DJ “may” play rather than “will” play.
Doing this means you can veto anything you don’t want or has been listed as an inappropriate joke.
Ensure the DJ is aware of any songs you have said no to.
This guarantees it won’t be played on the night.
Offer Guidance

Go With A DJ You Can Trust
On your search for Booking A Wedding DJ, you’ll find many have lot’s of experience and know that music is subjective. Ultimately if they haven’t been told which music you do and don’t enjoy it’s trickier for them to deliver a fantastic evening. It’s important to take the time to chose your songs and be in the right frame of mind when you do.
You’ll want different music on a Friday evening whilst having a drink than sober at 9am on a Monday morning.
It’s never a bad thing to give DJs the flexibility to add some suggestions in.
They will have been to enough weddings to understand what will work for the people in front of them.
If you can’t trust them to deliver what you’re after, it’s best you look for a DJ who you can. Try to stay clear of DJs who play the same 100 tracks in the same order every night.
These songs will have a different reaction at 9pm on a dark January evening than they will at the same time during a warm summer evening.
Value vs Money

An Excited Dance Floor At Pythouse Kitchen Garden
Like everything else, DJs vary in cost.
Top end ones are usually more committed to their craft.
They’ve invested in decent kit, high level PLI and regularly update their music.
Their reputation keeps them busy, and they want to maintain that.
A higher end, more expensive DJ will never cancel on you to chase more money somewhere else.
Great DJs understand the psychology of a wedding party.
When Booking A Wedding DJ expect to pay for reassurance and peace of mind.

The dancefloor was busy all evening which was exactly what we were aiming for!
We used Berkshire Event DJs for our wedding at the Elvetham Hotel, and couldn’t recommend them more. Simon made the organisation effortless and was very quick to answer any of our questions. It was also possible to suggest plenty of songs that we were keen to hear. On the evening our DJ was fantastic and our guests loved the music. The dancefloor was busy all evening which was exactly what we were aiming for! Thanks again for making sure we had an amazing time.

Slick, seamless mixing of all our favourite tunes.
What a wonderful time! We chose Berkshire Event DJ’s for our wedding based on recommendations from the venue. Up to the event, we had great communication from Simon and then Charlie who DJ’d on the day was superb – slick, seamless mixing of all our favourite tunes and he worked so well with the band that we had too – we didn’t have to worry about a thing. There were constantly people on the dance floor having a great time. Would highly recommend them for any event.

Simon and Charlie what a fantastic evening – without you guys there wouldn’t of been a party. The song choices were absolutely fantastic and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves with quite a few guests not being able to step away from the dance floor! Charlie was absolutely top notch and we are so glad we had you guys orchestrating the evening and can’t thank you enough for keeping the party going! The reviews weren’t lying when they said you were the best in the business.
